A different night out last night at the Phoenix Cinema in Dingle. They have a film club night on Tuesdays, and for 7.50 you get to see the film, and also get a cup of tea or coffee with biscuits! The place is only small but there is a good atmosphere, and last night a few of us went to see Waveriders, a documentary about Irish Surfing. It seemed like most of the surfers from the peninsula were there. We learnt that it was George Freeth, whose father was Irish, and mother from Hawaii, who introduced surfing to the USA - there's always an Irish connection...There was some spectacular footage of tow-in surfing at Aileens, by the Cliffs of Moher - not for the faint hearted !
